Starting this Sunday, New York City will be a hotbed of climate change activity with the UN Climate Summit, Climate Week NYC, and the People’s Climate March all happening.
These events mark an unprecedented level of engagement by the health sector from the grassroots on upwards, galvanized by the growing body of evidence that links climate change and human health.

Some key events that we are involved with include:
Sunday, September 21: The People’s Climate March will see hundreds of thousands of participants calling for global action against climate change, making it the largest public outpouring of support for climate solutions ever. If you can’t make it to New York City, marches will also be held in several cities around the world.
Monday, September 22: During the civil society event Action in Climate Change and Health, major public health leaders will address the intersection between climate change and health and offer a pathway toward a sustainable and healthy future. The event will feature Acting U.S. Surgeon General Boris Lushniak; Dr. Carlos Dora, health policy expert with the World Health Organization; and Dr. Richard Horton, editor of The Lancet.
Tuesday, September 23: More than 120 heads of state will participate in the UN Climate Summit, during which many will highlight their domestic environmental reforms as well as showcase their plans for future emission reducing policies.
