IN THE NEWS | Break Free From Plastic: A Healthcare Pledge (Project and Network Launch)

HEALTHCARE PLEDGE. The Break Free from Plastic Healthcare Network pledges to uphold and promote sustainable waste management to protect the health of the planet and its people, during a press conference held at the Hive Hotel, Quezon City on Friday (Feb. 28, 2020). Committed towards greener healthcare, the group called for the ban on single-use plastics in hospitals to protect public health.

INFECTIOUS WASTE REDUCTION. Alabang Medical Center Administrative Officer Liza Topacio shares they have lessened waste volume, including single-use plastic bottles through the installation of water fountains in hospital floors during the launching of the Break Free From Plastic Healthcare Network held at Hive Hotel, Quezon City on Friday (Feb. 28, 2020). Hospitals and medical institutions in the Philippines together with other advocates and volunteers have pledged to promote sustainable waste-management to protect the health of the planet and the people.
