July 23, 2019 -- In an aim to protect patients and the hospital community from hazardous medical items and healthcare waste, Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) Southeast Asia in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), launched the Sustainable Health in Procurement Project (SHiPP) in Indonesia; starting with an an inception workshop at the West Java Provincial Mental Hospital.
Furthermore, the project aims to develop universally adaptable procurement-related criteria and standards that will foster sustainable procurement and manufacturing in the healthcare setting.
Project partners in Indonesia include the Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH Indonesia) chaired by Dr. H. Suherman and various private and public hospitals that include Syamsudin Hospital (Sukabumi), Cahaya Qalbu Clinics, West Java Provincial Mental Hospital and Bandung Dental Hospital.
